Louise Agyeman-Barning is a seasoned Human Resource Executive with over two decades of strategic leadership in HR Strategy, Organizational Development and Talent Management across diverse sectors. She currently serves as Chief Manager and Head of Talent Development & Training at SIC Life Insurance Ltd, where she leads corporate transformation initiatives focused on workforce capability and performance enhancement.
Prior to her current role, Louise served as Head of HR & Administration at SIC Life Insurance Ltd from 2021 to May 2025, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening HR operations and aligning talent strategies with organizational goals. She also held the position of Head of HR & Administration at the National Banking College from 2018 to 2021. Her career spans high-impact roles in both public and private institutions, including pioneering HR departments at the International Water Management Institute and Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Ltd.
Louise’s international experience includes her tenure in Zambia as an HRM Consultant for Trafigura Pte Ltd, where she successfully established the HR function for Impala Terminals. She later transitioned into operations as Forwarding Manager, overseeing the movement of over 40,000 tons of high value cargo monthly to major ports in Southern and Eastern Africa, and deputizing for the Country Manager.
Her regional expertise was further solidified at Bolloré Transport & Logistics, where she served as Regional Implementation Manager, deploying a Supply Chain Management system across seven African countries including South Africa, Gabon, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Zambia, Ghana, and Nigeria.
Louise holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Languages and a Master of Arts in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Ghana, Legon, as well as an MBA in Human Resource Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources – International (SPHRi) and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM), in Ghana.
Her professional credentials also include certifications in PRINCE2 (Project Management), ITIL Service Management, and (ESG) Standards. In addition to her corporate roles, she has contributed to academia as an adjunct lecturer in Project Management and Strategic HRM at institutions in Côte d’Ivoire. She currently serves as a Council Member of CIHRM Ghana and chairs the HR Committee of the Board of New Crystal Health Services, a healthcare provider with eight facilities across Accra and Takoradi.
Louise is recognized for her cross-functional expertise, strategic foresight and commitment, to building resilient and high-performing organizations.
She is married with 2 young adults of 28 and 26 years of age.
